Effective Communication 2010

A little promotion for today’s post. From 22 – 25 April 2010, I will be in beautiful Porto, Portugal for a couple of speaking engagements organized by the great people at Toastmasters in Portugal.

The first presentation will be at the Effective Communication 2010 conference. It promises to be an exciting and informative experience with great speakers (and me) lined up, including Ed Tate, the 2000 World Champion of Public Speaking. The organizing team has been incredibly efficient and the website link above contains all the information that you need to know. Do check it out.

The following day, it will be my great pleasure and honour to give a talk at the Toastmasters District 59, Division H Conference on the subject, “So, you want to win a Toastmasters Contest?” I am looking forward to passing on some tips that I have learned over the years to those who are interested in entering the public speaking “arena of battle”.

I have been to Portugal once before and was struck by the warmth of its people. I am very much looking forward to my upcoming trip. If you are going to be in or near Porto then, why not stop by and join us?
