From the WRS website, here is a summary of the show: “Living abroad is all about making connections. From cultural faux pas to avoid and quirks of everyday life in Switzerland to the more important issues of living abroad, The Connectors explores the expat life. By expats, with expats, for everyone.”
It is fun and an opportunity to share experiences of what it is like to live in Switzerland. I work with a terrific group of people on the show including our intrepid host, Catherine Nelson-Pollard.
The show has added a new dimension to my public speaking experience. We have certain themes to discuss every week, so we have to prepare. However, we do not want to lose the spontaneity that comes with a conversation; thus we have to stay flexible and be able to react to each other live on the air. Throw in calls from the public and it is really does keep you on your toes.
As I write, we have two shows under our belts. However, we are starting to gel nicely and initial reactions have been favourable.
The shows airs live on WRS from 18:30 to 19:00 (GMT + 1 hour) on Thursdays with a rebroadcast on Fridays from 11:30 to 12:00.
“See you” on the air!
Update: WRS was sold and The Connectors is no longer on the air.
