We reached the tipping point in the first line of the slide above. It is, well and truly, awful. But this is just one example of a bad slide presentation. There are many others.
When you put a slide with lots of text up on the screen, you force your audience to make a choice. Either they listen to you and forget the slide, or they forget you and read the slide, or they try to do both which results in an immediate drop in functional IQ.
You can do much, much better with your slides. Remember that simplicity is powerful. For some effective tips on how to design and use slide presentations well, check out my webinar on the subject. And, there are many other posts on this blog about how to use slide presentations, such as PowerPoint and Keynote, well.
Stay away from the tipping point!
Oh, dear God! That makes my eyes bleed and my ears ring!
At least you’re still alive, Donn. I suspect that there were some who never made it out of the room! 😉

Perhaps the most distressing aspect … it was created by Northeastern University’s School of … Communication!
Indeed, Jack. Double “Ouch!”.
